C-Class World Championship, lake Geneva ( Lac Léman )

12 to 20 September, 2015. The world championship for C-Class catamarans often referred to as the Little America's Cup, or the LittleCup, represents the cutting edge of yacht design.
The regatta competition "village" will be open to all from 12 September so that the public can get a closer look at these cutting edge boats. Locals and visitors will be able to watch cutting-edge catamarans in spectacular action, racing at high speed from the starting line situated close to the landmark of Geneva, the Water Fountain (Jet d' eau).

Freddie Mercury - Montreux

Tuesday, November 24th, 2015. Anniversary of death of Freddie Mercury. Born Farrokh Bulsara, the singer of the rock band Queen, settled in Montreux where the group had bought Mountain Recording Studio. He recorded his last album, Queen - "Made in Heaven" at the Montreux studio.
Freddie Mercury (1946-1991) was born on the island of Zanzibar and moved to London where he began his fruitful collaboration with Queen in 1970.
At the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1978, the singer recorded the album "Jazz" with Queen. He fell in love with Montreux and Lake Geneva and decided to settle here. He said, among other things, "If you want peace of soul, come to Montreux".
To commemorate his time in Montreux, the statue of Freddie Mercury was placed by the waterfront in 1996. His fans still come and place flowers by his monument every day.
